Churches and monasteries of historical importance
Agkouseliana
On the mountains' feet, in the southern part of the village, byzantine wall paintings are partly saved in church walls (Agia Marina, Agios Stefanos).
Koxare
The most important monument of the Byzantine period is the church of Agios Georgios at Fatreliana site, which dates back to the 15th century. The owner's name, Theodosios Sagkamas, is saved and inside the church there are wall paintings picturing scenes of Koimisis Theotokou (assumption of Theotokos), Agios Georgios, Evaggelismos (evangelism), Filoxenia Avraam (Abraham's welcoming), Anastasi Lazarou (Lazaros' resurrection), Metamorfosi (Christ's transfiguration) etc
Agia Pelagia
The church of Agios Antonios, half of which is built under a rock, is very interesting
Kissos
- Naos Sotira (Church of the Saviour). This church is found on the main road that crosses the village. It is two-aisled. There are wall paintings inside it.
- Naos Panagias (Church of the Virgin Mary): Visitors can reach this church by following the path that goes up immediately after the church of Sotiras Christos. Inside there are wall paintings dating back to 1320-1330. Among others, the scene of the damned or the unjust is pictured. The wall paintings date back to approximately 1320/30.
- Church of Agios Ioannis: Near the village entrance, there is the wall painted church of Agios Ioannis.
- Monastery of Agio Pneuma (Holy Spirit): This monastery lies outside the village. It was an important educational centre in the 19th century. Today, only clusters of ruins are saved.
