Anogeia
Anogeia, lies north of Mountain Idi, at the glacis of Armi. The name of this village was taken by this particular site: "ano + gaia = anogeio", upper site.
The village is one of the largest centers of handicrafts-cottage industry in Crete and is 55 klm away from Rethymno and 36 klm away from Iraklio. It is build in three levels. The road from Aksos leads to the first level, the beautiful village of Perachori with the crystal water and the planes. A big ascending turn leads to Armi, the center of Anogeia village, followed by the third level, the picturesque Metochi.
