Kalamas

In Kalamas village or Vates of Milopotamos, there is the church of Agios Georgios. It is a simple four pillar cross-in-square church with a dime, with a narthex. The spars of the cross are housed with semi-cylinder arches and the angular compartments are reinforced with venations from plaster. The single-naved arch-covered narthex has the same age as the church. During the period of the Venetian invasion, the outer narthex was added. The outer walls of the narthex and the main church are formed with blind vaultings without this formation to correspond to the inside structure. Pieces of the original wall painting are preserved on the eastern groined-vaults and the western wall of the narthex. The wall paintings are dated back from the middle to the third 25 years of the 12th century.
