Churches and Monasteries of historical importance
Argiroupoli
Agia Kiriaki: In the northwest of Argiroupoli, at the banks of Mousellas River, lies the church of Agia Kiriaki. It is a single-naved arched church and its inside is decorated with wall paintings, from which only few traces remain. At the same site, a bath of the Roman period was discovered.
Agia Paraskevi: The church of Agia Paraskevi is found at Panohori of Argiroupoli. Under the church's floors, older remains of a mosaic floor were found, which belonged to the early Christian years and are not visible today. At the church precinct, architectural parts of the Roman and early Christian periods are saved (non-grooved columns, Ionic bases, pillar dosseret etc).
Agios Nikolaos: The church of Agios Nikolaos lies at Koumares site, in the southwest of Argiroupoli. Its inside is wall painted fro floor to ceiling, but its exquisite wall paintings have undergone extensive wear. It probably dates back to the 15th-16th centuries. At the same site, around the church and mainly on its eastern and western side, scattered architectural remnants of a building, whose use is still unknown, and tombs can be found.
Agios Nikolaos: The cavy church of Agios Nikolaos is at Hosto site, in the northwest of Argiroupoli, on the banks of Mousellas River. Few traces of exceptional wall paintings are saved in its interior. Various saints are pictures, from the faces of whom the eyes have been drawn out. The church is probably associated with the church of Agios Patarios, which was founded in this area by Ioannis Xenos.
