Kallikratis
Generally, in Crete the E4 comprises crossroads that connect many gorges, such as Kallikratis Gorge, which is near us, and the homonymous village and plateau on a 750 m altitude. Kallikratis Gorge can be crossed by following a 4 km long path, beginning at Kallikratis village and ending at Patsianos village. The gorge is only 1 km long.
Kallikratis plateau, with the homonymous village, lies 12 km after the village of Asi Gonia and is built on the Cretan mountains. There is an asphalt road that continues through a wonderful landscape towards Askifos Plateau at Sfakia. The abandoned village of Asfendos lies in between.
